NarendraModi launches Skill Development Mission:
Prime Minister Narendramodi launched Skill India Campaign in New Delhi. A World Youth Skill Day is celebrated at a National level on 15th July, 2015.
As Digital India makes our country to Digital, Skill India Mission is also the featuring our Country.
India should come out as the 'Human Resource Capital' of the world as China has become a global 'Manufacturing Factory', 'Skill India' Mission as part of the government's "War against Poverty". Likely to provide a workforce of about 4 to 5 crore to the world if the capacity of the countrymen are perfected through proper and dynamic training in skills and added that the government is focused on this aspect.
Modi said that "We need to have futuristic vision and prepare plans for the next 10 years" and urged the need for regular interaction between industry and technology experts."If China is like a 'manufacturing factory' of the world, India should become the 'human resource capital' of the world. That should be our target and we should lay emphasis on that," Modi said addressing an event here to launch the 'Skill India' Mission which was attended by several union ministers and Chief Ministers of various states.
“Nearly 18 ministers including Union ministers as well as chief ministers would be attending the event,” said a senior government official, adding that a large number of private skill trainers would also attend.
Invitees from the private sector include Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry, Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra, chiefs of industry associations as well as Teamlease Services chairman Manish Sabharwal and Romesh Wadhwani of the Wadhwani Foundation.
“While a number of chief ministers will be in New Delhi, each of the states too will launch the Mission to create awareness amongst youth about the need for skilling”. Census 2011 data and 68th round of the National Sample Survey revealed than an estimated 10.4 crore fresh workers would enter the labor market and require skill training by 2022, and 29.8 crore of the existing workforce will require additional skill training over the same time period.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana:
The government also plans to skill 40.2 crore workers by 2022 and a number of schemes including the new National Skill Development and Entrepreneurship 2015, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana and the skill loan scheme will be launched. The Prime Minister will also unveil a new logo and slogan for the Skill India mission and give out letters of employment to some of the students who have successfully undergone skill training.
The Indian Youth is very talented and industrious. By bad luck, the lack of formal skill training prevents deserving talent from being employed. PMKVY aims to leverage the potential of India’s demographic dividend by providing skill-training and making every skilled youth employable.
Training will be provided based on industry aligned National Occupational Standards through training providers and Sector Skill Councils. Under PMKVY, candidates will be eligible for a monetary reward, upon successful completion of their training and also clearing the assessment by an independent assessment agency appointed by Sector Skill Council. Moreover the candidates will also receive a government recognized certificate which helps them become gainfully employed.
